The 2023 Senior Women’s T20 Cup cricket tournament begins on October 19 and the final is scheduled to be held on November 9 at the Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh International Cricket Stadium in Raipur with all knockout points and result.
The Women’s T20 Senior League started in 2008-09 and the ongoing season is the 15th edition of the Women’s T20 Cricket Championship.
While the results of the inaugural edition were not tracked, Railways became the first recorded Senior Women’s T20 Trophy winner in the 2009-10 season after defeating Maharashtra to claim the title.
In fact, according to statistics, the Railways has won 11 times and they are the most successful team in this competition.
Delhi in 2017-18 and Punjab in 2018-19 are the other two teams to have won the trophy. Maharashtra has been runners-up five times. Railways won the previous edition and defeated Bengal in the final.
The 2023 Senior Women’s T20 Trophy has a total of 37 teams divided into 5 groups. After a round robin, the top two teams in each group advance to the knockout rounds.
The six best teams among the 10 teams advance directly to the quarter-finals, and the remaining four teams will compete in the preliminary rounds on November 3. The quarter-finals of the 2023-24 Senior Women’s T20 Trophy will be held on November 5, while the semi-finals are scheduled to take place on November 7.
Like the final, the two semi-finals will also be played at the Shahid Veer Narayan Singh International Cricket Stadium in Raipur, Chhattisgarh.
